NFA Committee Exhibit Hall Office Hours

The following NFA committees will hold office hours in the exhibit hall during the convention. Stop by at the following times to learn more about committee initiatives and engage in related activities. 

Adult Flutist and Amateur Resources Committee

Bring your flute and newly-purchased duets or trios to the NFA booth in the exhibit hall to read through with members of the Adult Flutist and Amateur Resources Committee!

Friday 2-4 p.m.
Sunday 2-3 p.m.

Archives and Oral History

Come chat with Nancy Toff and Meg Griffith of the Archives and Oral History Committee, hear stories about your favorite teachers and performers, and see who you recognize in our picture archive for a prize.

Historical Flutes

Historical Flutes Committee chair Barbara Hopkins will offer free mini lessons. Bring your own flute (Baroque or modern) for a mini lesson, or use one of ours: Baroque flutes from the Betty Bang Mather and Roger Mather collection will be available for use during the lesson. No previous experience on Baroque flute is necessary–come and try something new!

Career and Artistic Development

Career Checks: Looking for feedback? Does your resume need a reboot? The Career and Artistic Development Committee is here to help! Stop by the NFA committee booth or sign up in advance to reserve a time for a 20-minute career mentorship meeting. Sessions can provide general career or interview advice or may be used as an opportunity to review and discuss cover letters, resumes, and/or CVs.

Youth Engagement Committee

“Tips, Trials, and Tours:  Explorations for the Emerging Flutist.”
Students and teachers alike are welcome to visit the NFA booth to talk Step-up Flutes, get or give tips for perfecting flute abilities from beginner to college, and get exhibit hall tours for parents, students, families, and first-timers.  The NFA Youth Engagement Committee will be on hand to help you explore!
