NFA Programs

Deep and broad-reaching, programs under the NFA’s umbrella serve flutists and flute-lovers past, present, and future. The NFA has commissioned major and emerging composers for more than two decades, adding substantially to the world’s flute repertoire. NFA scholarships support promising national and international flutists. More than 15 competitions draw talented performers to annual conventions and provide major venues for newly written works. An army of volunteers in some 30 committees drive the organization’s work, both visionary and pragmatic. And the NFA honors the best and the brightest of the flute world—a majority of them active NFA members—with annual achievement awards, ensuring an enduring link between past and future.
