Sight-reading Pieces from the Paris Conservatory

Nancy Andrew (center) with session performers Mary Stolper, Marianne Gedigian, Leone Buyse, and Carol Wincenc. (Jim Walker not pictured.)

Nancy Andrew presented a lecture/recital about works from the Paris Conservatory, often unknown, that deserve to be played and to become part of our repertoire. (This information is the focus of her new publication, Sight-reading Pieces from the Paris Conservatory.) All the (short to very short) works were performed by great flute players and the audience was impressed with the high performance levels.

These works can be used as encores, but they are not too difficult for beginning students. They offer an entree to longer pieces.
