The Winter issue includes everything from interesting interviews to thoughtful advice. We look at the science behind why we should practice with the brain in mind, and look at one university program making musicians’ wellness an integral part of learning. There are also helpful new columns from the Jazz and Career and Artistic Development committees, as well as a new Donor Spotlight series, in which we share more about some of the dedicated flute lovers without whom the NFA could not do its work.
As part of the series of online conversations with arts leaders about their priorities in engaging their communities in broadening Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) initiatives, we talk to three arts leaders—Vanessa Rose, Loki Karuna, and Kevin Kwan Loucks—who offer some insight into their visionary ideas.
We also learn more about how one of our Career Enhancement Grant recipients put her award money to work, and the New Music Committee chats with some of our newly commissioned composers.
