Each evening, attendees gather together for show stopping concerts featuring leading flutists from around the world. Admission to the gala concerts is included with your convention registration.

Thursday Gala:

Flute Fusion

 

Thursday, Aug. 1 | 8-10pm | Room C1/C2

Flute Fusion celebrates the integration and adaptability of the flute into many traditions of popular music worldwide. From the rich music of Latin America to beatboxing to jazz, enjoy performances by flutists at the forefront of popular music today: Marco Granados, Hernan Jara, Polo Marti, Beti Plana, Lucas Robatto, Rafael Rodriguez, Anders Hagberg, Greg Pattillo, Kim Scott, Ian Clarke.

Concerto Gala

Saturday, Aug. 3 | 8-10pm | Lila Cockrell Theater
Experience extraordinary performances by renowned musicians highlighting a rich tapestry of cultural traditions. Ransom Wilson, Jennifer Grim, Amal Gochenour, Joidy Blanco, and Lorna McGhee enthrall with concerti from around the world performed with the San Antonio Philharmonic under Maestro Troy Peters.

Gala Concert & Closing Ceremonies

Sunday, Aug. 4 | 4-6pm | Hemisfair Ballroom C1/C2
Join us for our rousing closing program and ceremonies. Trudy Kane, Jonathan Keeble, Zart Dombourian-Eby, Francesca Arnone, and Marianne Gedigian perform. Additional performances by Caen Thomason-Redus and flute choirs. Flauta Mundi Closing Flute Orchestra: Julie Sooy, conductor
