Learn how to understand and interpret rhythms expressively! Eva Legêne and Teddie Hwang will introduce the topic of affect in rhythm so that you’ll get a deeper insight into the music you play. We will help you translate the theorical into the practical, including the connection with tonguing and also the usage of airstream to execute the rhythm with the intended affect. The result will always be expressive, stylish, and not the least a lot of fun for both the performer and the listener! Both modern and historical flutists are warmly welcomed! BRING YOUR INSTRUMENT. “Teddie Talks Traverso” is a series dedicated to topics around historical flute-playing. These are talks, workshops, and media curated by the flutist Teddie Hwang.
