Beyond the Notes—Ideas for Teaching Beginner Flute

This workshop will explore different ways to teach specific pieces of music to beginner flute students (first year of lessons). We’ll look at a variety of approaches when teaching a new work, giving our flute students not only new skills but also valuable insights into the music and a well-rounded musical education. Although we'll focus on beginner flute pieces, the ideas are easily transferable to other levels of teaching. A PDF of the music explored will be available to all attendees.
