2026 Gala Concerto Proposals

Origins: Celebrating Trailblazing & Discovery

Our 2026 convention will take place in Portland, Oregon, a destination that represents westward expansion, hopes, and dreams. We want to honor origins, the products of imagination, and what has come to life in the hands of trailblazers throughout the world. We also want to celebrate the pathways of the flute in America, as we celebrate the semiquincentennial (250th) anniversary of the United States.
For the Concerto Gala, we welcome proposals of pieces that represent global expansion and innovation, or that highlight the trajectory of the flute in America and its cultural pluralism.

Please submit a video or audio link (e.g. YouTube, Spotify, website) of a performance of the concerto. If you are not the soloist in this performance, please submit a representative audio or video sample of your performance of a work in a similar style. Please also submit a score of the concerto.

If the work has not yet been performed, please submit a digital audio file of the piece, as well as a representative audio or video sample of your playing.

Flexibility of orchestration may be a consideration.

Note: You MUST hold an NFA membership to submit a proposal. Learn more about becoming an NFA member
