Collegiate Flute Choir Competition

The Collegiate Flute Choir Competition will select college flutists to perform in the Collegiate Flute Choir conducted by Gareth McLearnon at the 2022 NFA Convention in Chicago. All entrants must be full-time undergraduate students enrolled in an accredited college, university, or conservatory during the 2021-2022 academic year.

Participants of the virtual 2020 and 2021 High School and Collegiate Flute Choirs will have the opportunity to join a live ensemble of their own at the Chicago convention in 2022.  These participants, assuming they have remaining eligibility, may still audition for the appropriate 2022 flute choir, and they will be able to participate in both choirs if they are accepted into a 2022 ensemble.

Competition Requirements*

  • All flutists must be current NFA members at the time the entry is submitted. If chosen to perform or present during the convention, flutists must also be current members at the time of the convention and register for the convention by July 1, 2022. To join or renew, go to nfaonline.org/signup.
