Gender Disparity in Music Education

Geared toward flute instructors and flute students alike, this presentation will explore recent research, statistics, and general trends pertaining to gender disparity in schools and throughout the music profession. This presentation aims to inform and inspire participants, giving them tools to make positive changes in their own programs. In addition to an understanding of current research, attendees with be able to recognize factors that may contribute to these disparities and will be offered suggestions for meaningful change.
