Perform or Present at the 2019 Convention in Salt Lake City

Proposals will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Monday, October 1, 2018.
Flute Choir proposals are accepted until 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Thursday, November 15, 2018. Visit the call for proposals page to learn more about what Program Chair Rebecca Johnson and Assistant Program Chair Kate Henry are looking for in convention proposals.

*NEW* Submit a Proposal for the 2020 Gala Concerto Concert 

Do you want to perform in the Gala Concerto Concert at the 48th Annual NFA Convention in Dallas, held August 6-9, 2020? Now you can submit a proposal for that as well! These proposals must be also submitted through the online system. Just find the Concerto option at the bottom of the drop-down menu to send your proposal.

The NFA offers a 50% discount when groups of 10 or more students purchase e-memberships together. 2019 Competitions

Take the Next Step in Your Musical Journey

The NFA will hold 15 competitions at the 47th annual convention in Salt Lake City, including solo, masterclass, flute choir, and non-performance categories, offering almost $30,000 in total prize money and other opportunities. Competitions open in December. In the meantime, view the repertoire online, and get practicing!

*NEW* Alto Flute Artist 

We are very excited to announce a brand new NFA competition for low flutists. The Alto Flute Artist is for outstanding players of the alto flute, who may also choose to include a piece(s) performed on the bass flute.

Myrna Brown International Scholarship 

Attend and Present at the 2019 Convention

The deadline for the Myrna Brown International Scholarship is coming up fast! In memory of Myrna Brown, this biennial scholarship provides financial assistance to a flutist from another country to attend and present at the National Flute Association Convention. Recipients receive an award of $3,000, a complimentary convention pass, and the opportunity to share their unique musical perspectives and experiences through a presentation or performance at the 2019 convention in Salt Lake City. Applications are due December 1, 2018.
