Through the Young Artist Mentorship Program, college students and recent graduates who identify as belonging to a marginalized cultural group (BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, flutists with disabilities, etc.) will be paired with professionally established mentors from similar cultural backgrounds. The flutists selected for this program will be provided with career development resources, dedicated one-on-one guidance, and a supportive network of like-minded artists to share the journey with.

The Lesson Scholarships Program provides private lessons year-round to students enrolled at community music schools in major cities across the country. This renewable scholarship supports talented school-age students through their high school graduations. In addition to flute lessons, each student is assigned a mentor who oversees progress and helps the student explore study habits, career possibilities, and life skills. Students also receive complimentary memberships to the NFA. Participating schools include:

Secondary school students are awarded scholarships to attend Youth Flute Day, a day-long series of youth-centered events at the NFA Convention, at no cost. Each year, the Diversity and Inclusion Committee identifies 10-12 flute students who attend
school in the convention host city and who could not otherwise afford to attend.
