Robert will discuss his research into the flute music of the 20th Century Argentinean composer Jacobo Ficher. This presentation will include an overview of Ficher's life and compositional style as well as his role in the influential composers collective Grupo Renovación. It will also include a detailed look at his two most important works for the flute, the Sonata for Flute and Piano, op. 32, no. 1 (1935) and the Concerto for Flute and Chamber Orchestra, op. 107 (1968).
