Myrna Brown Dine-Around
Thursday | 5:45–7:30pm
Are you looking to extend your social connections during the NFA convention? Join us for the Myrna Brown Dine-Around, a special opportunity for convention attendees to network and meet new friends. These community meals are open to all convention guests—first-timers, regular attendees, students, and professionals—and allow flutists from all walks of life to connect over dinner. RSVP and location details to be announced!
Gala Awards Reception
Note that the event is located in the Hyatt Regency Hotel adjacent to the Oregon Convention Center.

The NFA Annual Gala Awards reception honors the 2026 achievement award recipients: Steven Finley and Matthias Ziegler, receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award, and Joanna Bassett, receiving the Distinguished Service Award. The celebration will include hors-d'oeuvres, a Pacific Northwest themed buffet, and a cash bar.
This is a ticketed event. Tickets must be purchased when you register for the convention. Admission is NOT included with your convention registration. Prices available here. Please contact Mily Montanez with questions.
Affinity Groups
Affinity groups offer a space to connect with other convention guests over shared backgrounds and interests. All are welcome! Unless otherwise noted, all events will take place in Oregon Convention Center Room B117.

2:30pm - 3:30pm | Flutists with Chronic Illness and Injury
Returning in 2026 due to popular demand, flutists with chronic illness and/or injury are invited to a virtual meet up group taking place via Zoom for peer support and networking, discussing topics such as alternative practice routines, and breaking from, or returning to, flute playing. 4 - 5pm | Life Members Meet-up (all members welcome!)
Join us for a casual, conversation-based meet-up honoring NFA Life Members. Attendees are invited to connect in small-group conversations with longtime members and peers, creating space to share experiences, exchange ideas, and build relationships across the flute community. Optional prompts will be available to help spark discussion, but the focus is on open, informal connection. All members are welcome to stop by and participate

Flutists are invited to join this virtual meet-up group to find community and support for mental wellbeing, discussing topics such as stress, self-esteem, and performance pressure to cultivate a healthier musical journey together.
